Frequently Asked Questions
What is DPC?
Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is an innovative way to return to the foundations of modern healthcare along with some creative ways to care for you, your family or employees. Instead of paying insurance premiums and co-pays, you have a monthly fee which covers visits, in-office procedures, and personable access to Joanna. This model has been around since the late 1990s and is taking over healthcare across the US.
How does the experience at Hope + Health DPC differ from a traditional clinic?
You can directly talk to your provider. You aren’t waiting days to be seen in clinic. Your provider probably even remembers what pharmacy you and your family use. You don’t see someone new every time and have to explain who you are. You aren’t worried about what bills will be sent to you in the mail after a visit. You get to visit your friendly Nurse Practitioner that will welcome you like family.
Do I still need insurance?
While we do not contract with insurance carriers nor are we an insurance company, it is highly recommended that you, your family or employees have either a high deductible insurance plan or health cost-sharing plan. Sometimes using our cash pay pricing for labs and other things we have learned in this model will save you more money than using your “good” insurance. You also can typically use your HSA to pay for a DPC membership. Health Sharing plans like Sedera and Zion often will give you a discount if you have a membership with a Direct Primary Care clinic like Hope + Health DPC.
